GIS4035 Lab 1
The Student Learning Outcomes for this lab were to:
1) Interpret the tone and texture of aerial photographs
2) Identify land features in an aerial photograph based on several visual attributes
3) Compare similar land features in true color and false color IR photographs
I achieved all these objectives with minor hiccups after part one (interpreting tone & texture). The frustrating part of the first lab was my initial mistake of adding symbology/title and attribute name immediately after creating a polygon. When it was time to create labels, I had duplicate labels that I could not remove, even after consulting ArcGIS Pro Help. I ended up starting over, and it was truly smooth sailing for the rest of the lab.
Designing maps was tricky, since a North Arrow and Scale Bar were not needed because of the photograph's nature. I wasn't sure what scale the photograph was or the N/S orientation. I ended up changing the symbology from graduated colors (light-dark) to just colored outlines based on the layer. I'm happy with how it turned out.
