GIS 5100 LAB 1
The objectives for this week's lab included learning crime analysis techniques, determining crime rates, examining spatial patterns in crime rates and socioeconomic characteristics, practicing spatial cluster and comparing reliability of crime hotspot mapping. I became familiar with some geoprocessing tools like creating a mask by setting environmental parameters, creating kernel density maps and also using the intersect tool to distinguish patterns between layers. Ultimately, I learned a lot in this lab, but struggled with time and was unable to complete portions.
