GIS 5100 LAB 3
The objectives for this lab assignment were outlined with the help of Esri's learning plan on Get Started with Visibility Analysis. The completed courses in the plan were Introduction to 3D Visualization, Performing Line of Sight Analysis, Performing Viewshed Analysis and Sharing 3D Content Using Scene Layer Packages. In the first course, Introduction to 3D Visualization, I learned the basics of 3D visualization and the range of applications and the techniques by analyzing aspects of a 2D and 3D creation of Crater Lake in Oregon. The second and third course, Performing a Line of Sight Analysis and Viewshed Analysis, focused on how to identify obstructions between observed and target points, which has a real world application of establishing security parameters to ensure there are obstructions in the viewpoints. The final course, Sharing 3D Content, shared tools on how to export 3D scene layers to ArcGIS Online.
